Hi Everyone, I have read the Graduates Guide: Organizing Your Studies for David Winston's Herbal Studies Course. It was useful. I am interested in what you may be doing as we get started in this Fabulous Course!!! What are you doing? What is working for you so far? thanks,

Ha! Struggling with this one! Still trying to get organized. I don't have powerpoint on my computer, or Word (I have a Mac). I am taking hand written notes during the class, then listening to everything again and typing the notes up. I open the b & w PowerPoints in Preview, then use the shape tools to get rid of all the lines, then add a text box and type everything in. Needless to say it is a big pain in the butt. Going to try to start preparing the powerpoint before class and type as much as I can in during class so I can just fill in the gaps afterwards. But will I print everything out? I don't know yet. Both the graduate and David seem to think that's a good idea. Any other people? :) Jessa

For now this is what I do: I begin by copying the text of the powerpoint slides and copy/ paste diagrams I find useful onto a word doc and then the day of class I type additional notes under the pertinent sections. I find that preparing ahead of time this way also helps me familiarize myself with what is to come. My hand writing is way too sloppy nowadays. I will then go through my notes and edit and eventually print out the pages but also have everything on a flash drive. Sonia

That guide is so helpful!! Am working towards getting a full system in place, following her experience. I'm a visual learner & works best for me to take written notes (not typed) on the power point print outs. I resisted printing out everything but my writers cramp after our first class showed me that was not realistic. It's working much better with printouts, also easier to go back & watch again where clarifications/more info needed.
