Swollen Tongue

In our last class you said that a swollen tongue was a sign of spleen qi deficiency and not dampness. When I went back to Andrews's tongue diagnosis notes (also check Giovanni Macciocia) it says that a swollen tongue indicates dampness. I just want to get clarity on this so that we're on the same page for triunes. Thank you! Jamie

A swollen tongue that looks wet is dampness, a swollen tongue that is dry is deficient spleen qi.
