Hi, David! I asked a question last night about lung-qi stagnation. I had read about this on Giovanni Maciocia's website - https://giovanni-maciocia.com/on-stagnation-of-lung-and-heart-qi/ . Perhaps this is just qi stagnation broken down into smaller categories or more extreme versions of deficiency disorders. Anyway, can you recommend herbs that are good for what he describes as lung-qi stagnation, i.e. a feeling of lump in the throat, difficulty in swallowing, a feeling of oppression or distension of the chest, slight breathlessness, sighing, sadness, slight anxious mood, depressed mood? Thank you!

Ah yes, qi stagnation of the chest, which is a type of qi stagnation. the lump in the throat is plum syndrome, processed pinellia and magnolia bark are often used for this in a formula known as Ban Xia Huo Po Tang (chichis also used for qi stagnation of the chest). This symptom pattern can also caused by liver qi stagnation.
