Raspberry Leaf

Hi David, I think we may have discussed this at some point, but I couldn’t find it in my notes. Can the leaf of black raspberry (Rubus occidentalis) be used in the same manner as red raspberry leaf? Our Materia Medica says that several Rubus species are used similarly (leaf) and that the black raspberry fruits are medicinal but it does not clarify whether or not the black raspberry leaf is medicinal in the way the other Rubus species’ leaves are. Thanks!

Yes, Black Raspberry leaves have similar activity , but they are more astringent and more drying, so I do not use them very often.
