Polygonatum as a vehicle?

Hi David, Do you use Polygonatum biflorum (or multiflorum or odoratum – root or root and leaves/stem) as a vehicle herb to create a synergistic effect, respectively to direct other herbs to the place where they are needed? I remember a plant walk teacher saying that it had been used that way by a native tribe (I sadly don´t remember which one). I was also wondering, when using it as a vehicle, if it would be used to direct other herbs to the places where Polygonatum itself has its effect on (e.g. tendons, spine), or if this would be more general bringing any herb to the place where it is needed? No, I have never heard of it being used as a synergist and it really does not fit the usual characteristics of such a plant (spicy, highly aromatic). I am also fairly familiar with the ethnobotany of this herb and have never heard of any tribe using it this way. In addition only the root/rhizome is used internally.
