Good morning, Would long term use of Licorice in a herbal create adrenal gland stress in a patient with Addison's? My concern is from a poor functioning gland that may be stimulate beyond capacity over time. Or would the Licorice even effect an adrenal gland that is hypo? We see more of Addison's due to the mix of poodle breeds, (put whatever breed with an oodle after). It seems the poodle has a familial tendency for Addison's. Does this occur in humans as well? I use a small amount of Licorice long-term for Addison’s disease, along with herbs such as Red ginseng and Cordyceps.. Do you mean does Addsion’s run in families, not the I am aware of ? Addison’s is rare in humans and mostly caused by Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, traumatic injury to the adrenal glands, or cancer metastasis from other organs.
