In the case of an elderly person with fatigue and higher cholesterol and blood sugar levels (like GK´s case of 3/30 for example), I was wondering why you did not include Shen Ren/white Asian ginseng in the formula? I know that Shen Ren is warming and slightly moist and that in the case of GK she has some heat in the lower jiao, where the kidneys and adrenals are located (and where I understood that ginseng largely acts on in the TCM perspective). In case your reason for not including it were its warming properties, couldn´t this have been balanced in the formula by herbs with cooling properties? Thank you.

Unfortunately that case was filed away and I no longer have easy access to it, so I cannot comment on the case. I do not recall what I chose or why, sorry. All I can say is while Rd Ginseng might be a good choice, I obviously felt other herbs made more sense in the over all scope of the case. Yes, if I really wanted to use it.
