I just dug up some solomon seal roots, they weigh 55 grams, we don't have David materia medica on this yet so I am using Thomas Easley's info. He said 95% alcohol and 1:3 ratio. So I took 55 x 3 = 165 x 1.0418 = 172. On your conversion sheet you only go up to 85% so I will assume if you need 95%, it is 95%? Since I didn't get all that much root I really don't want to dry some just to figure out the water content. Is there a good way to estimate this? And are my calculations correct. If I don't take into account the freshness of the plant what would be my next step? Thanks so much Jo
