For Rich: oligosaccharide digestion

Hi, going over my notes... this seems really big in terms of the invention of using fire to heat our foods, to be able to digest oligosaccharides. How can other animals make use of oligo- or polysaccharides, or don’t they? Thanks

Rich said: Interesting question! I don't know the answer to that though keep in mind other animals' digestive tracts can be quite different from ours, so in some cases at least some of these constituents may be more bioavailable to other species eating them raw.
