What do you know about pine needle tea? Should it be prepared fresh or dried? I imagine there are many beneficial components, but is the vitamin C maintained in drying or making tea? Should it be an infusion or decoction? Becky Russell

There really is not that much vitamin C in Pine needles (some but not a lot) and fresh herbs do not extract well into water, so carefully dried Pine needles will have some vitamin C in them which is extractable in warm/hot water.

Yes it would be an infusion, we will cover pine in the Materia Medica of the Americas , the needles as you mention contain a bit of Vitamin c, but also flavonoids, so it has some anti-inflammatory activity, astringency and expectorant effects
