There are very few books on herbal energetics.. Any TCM or Ayurvedic materia medica has energetics incorporated into it, western books, not so much. Peter Holmes books on the topic are somewhat problematic and I don’t recommend them (too many errors). There are several books by Jeremy Ross that are excellent, sadly they are out of print and used copies are crazy expensive ($700.00 last one I saw). Rosalee de Floret has an introductory book, that was at least partially inspired by taking my class on the topic many years ago. It is nice, but simple. As we do materia medica you will be introduced to the energetic qualities of almost 300 herbs. Human energetics is part of TCM, Ayurveda, Unani-tibb and other traditional medical systems, what we discussed in class was a very good overview of the topic. I cannot think of any books specifically related to this.

David, Do you think anything much about the book by Thomas Avery Garran - Western Herbs according to TCM ?

May I add to this... What is your opinion about Matthew Wood´s herbals? They do include some herbal energetics from a Western, however I think mostly historic, perspective. Thank you very much.

I forgot about this book, it is excellent.

They are very creative. They are interesting ,but much of it is based on speculation or single cases, which is not adequate for therapeutic use in my opinion.
