Question...I heard of an herbalist who uses purple loosestrife instead of euphrasia. I had made tincture of wild purple loosestrife years ago and did not find it effective for sore throat, sinusitis, etc...I of course did not have the skills about combining formulas as I am learning now and imagine that this would effect the action of the herb. Have you had any experiences with or have heard of others using purple loosestrife and is it effective?

Yes, Purple Loosestrife is an effective herb, but it is mostly used orally for GI inflammation. It is used as an eyewash as a substitute for Euphrasia and Euphrasia is not particularly effective for sore throats.
