That is a huge question and I do not think I can easily do it justice. A few examples Self Heal (All Heal) was a major herb in the 1500-1600’s but is hardly used in European medicine today (still used in TCM). Other herbs that are not as commonly used include White Dead Nettle, Centaury, Squill, Bugle (Ajuga), Vipers Bugloss, etc As for new herbs certainly most North American herbs, many herbs from India, Africa, China (although some herbs from these places where commonly used by the 1500-1600s such as Ginger, Myrrh, Licorice, etc.
