Hello David, A man I know, the one I made my case study on, is dealing with chronic diarrhea since August. He has been taking 6000mg of vitamin C for the past 9 months following a recommendation on a web site (cancer prevention and care). The research I have done on internet indicate an upper limit of 2000 mg a day. Could this high dosage cause irritation? Should I recommend to stop or decrease the amount, and if yes for how long? He had stoped once for 3 days but did not notice any improvement, but maybe it was not long enough for the gut to heal. Thank you, Anne

Could this high dosage cause irritation? no but it can cause diarrhea Should I recommend to stop or decrease the amount? yes His gut is not damaged, but high doses of vitamin c can cause diarrhea, have him drop down to 500 mg per day for several weeks and see if it gets better.
