Frequently Used Herbal Teas During Pregnancy-Short Update
I admit I do not have a lot of experience in reading scientific articles, but this article had some odd things in it. For example the discussion on someone drinking Camomile tea causing ductal constriction and citing that camomile tea is similar to NSAID. Then it goes on to state "Camomile tea (Camelia sinensis) root" demonstrates anti-inflammatory activity. I don't understand why this study continues to come up whenever you read ANYTHING negative on Matricaria recutita as Camelia sinensis is Green Tea! Is there a connection I am missing with Camelia sinensis and Matricaria recutita? I have seen this referenced elsewhere and now in this article "proof" from the Italian studies which are bent on showing us the evils of herbs. So is there anything in this article that is trustworthy? When I find one thing like the Green Tea reference everything else is suspicious to me. Am I just being paranoid or overprotective of my stance that chamomile is safe in pregnancy?
There are a few other things that do not make sense and in looking up the references I found mostly negative results. I would appreciate your insight.
