Bitters as prokinteics

Hi David Do you consider all bitters prokinetics or are there specific ones like angelica that excel in that quality? Along these lines, would all of your bitters formulas be recommended for someone with SIBO as a prokinetic (also carminative and many of the herbs in those formulas have bacteriostatic effects), or do you prefer one over the other when increasing peristalsis is one of the primary desired results? Thank you

I think most bitter have some prokinetic effects, but certain herbs have been shown to have significant prokinetic activity such as Angelica, Bai Zhu, Poncereus, etc. In general IO would use the DOPAA formula for SIBO, long with other appropriate herbs.
