Hi David, I would like to hear your thoughts about a recipe I found for a baking soda tincture with herbs. This sounds strange for me and I doubt the constituents get extracted. But maybe I am wrong? It is without alcohol or glycerin, just 25 g baking soda plus 25 g herb and 100 ml water. They used ground ivy as herb and mixed it with the baking soda and water and let it sit for 2 weeks. They say it is good for 3 months. Please let me know what you think. Thank you, Kirsten

I have never heard of using baking soda to tincture an herb, and do not know why it would be of benefit. The shelf life is very short as well.
