Hi David, I'm curious if herbalists — graduates of yours, AHG registered herbalists, or otherwise — are able to access medical journals (other than simply buying each article)? For example, the Journal of Herbal Medicine. If not, I wonder which journals you read most frequently and how you access them? Thank you.

Generally you cannot access any subscription journal no matter if you are an herbalist, MD, ND, RN, etc unless you teach for a University and have library privileges. Some county community colleges will access articles for anyone who lives in the county. Also University medical libraries often have the articles which you can copy for relatively little $. There Journal of Herbal Medicine is not worth reading in my opinion. I subscribe to Herbalgram, Journal of the American Herbalist Guild, Journal of Ethnopharmacology, Economic Botany, Medical Herbalism, Herb Clips from the American Botanical Council, American Herb Association Newsletter and various other journals. I find a lot on-line via PubMed and Google Scholar for free.
