Tumefactive sludge in common bile duct

Hi David, If imaging shows tumefactive sludge with a 5 mm filling defect and an 11 mm CBD dilation, but no explicit mention of stones, would it be inappropriate to use stronger cholagogues such as Chelidonium majus? In this case, the sludge has obscured any possible stones, bile flow is extremely sluggish and has progressed to a tumefactive state, and the surgeon has recommended cholecystectomy, but this isn't desirable.
