Hello David, I am interested in making the formula you suggested in the case study i wrote that was reviewed in class on 4/8/25. Here is your Tincture formula: 2p Ashwagandha – calming adaptogen, anxiety, lowers cortisol, PMS brain fog, helps w/drug withdrawal 2p Bacopa – anxiolytic, nootropic, bitter tonic, helps with drug withdrawal 1p Yuan Zhi – PTSD, anxiolytic, inhibits reinstatement of trauma memories 1p Blue Vervain – anxiolytic, fear, PMS anxiety 1p Chaste Tree – FRS regulator, PMS, carminative 1/4p Calamus root – phlegm misting the heart (OCD, bipolar, depression), synergist w/Yuan Zhi 2-3gtt. Pulsatilla – anxiolytic, “negative thoughts”, menstrual headaches, anxiety-induced palpitations, overactive dreaming, dysmenorrhea I want to add the Pulsatilla to the formula as you suggested. What species is the Pulsatilla? I have learned that it must be dried plant material. What percentage alcohol do you recommend? Does 2-3 gtt indicate drops per 1 ounce bottle? Do you recommend any sources for correctly made Pulsatilla tincture? I know it is a low dose botanical only to be used with care. I want to put this formula together for the client of this case. I understand it was theoretical based on the info I presented. Thanks so much for your assistance! I appreciate it so much. Donna O'Donovan

David said: There are multiple species used, it is made with the fresh undried herb and is 50-60% ETOH. I can’t speak to whether they make it correctly, but a company called Elk Mountain herbs has a fresh Pulsatilla tincture.
