Looking through the notes on Calendula and Gotu Kola, two herbs commonly used to treat intestinal permeability, I'm curious about the research into that function. Some of the sources cited refer to their ability to help heal gastric ulcers. Would it be reasonable to assume that other herbs that show that capacity could effectively be used for treating leaky gut? Are there other signs and factors like effects on other mucosa that would point to a possible use for leaky gut? Thanks!

David said: Anything that can heal mucosal membranes will heal the intestinal epithelial barrier, which is a mucous membrane. So probably any herb that helps the esophagus, stomach lining, small intestine will help heal the intestinal mucosal barrier.
