Hi David, I’m looking for sources of Indian/Ayurvedic herbs in whole form rather than powdered. I’ve had a lot of difficulty finding plants like Tinospora cordifolia or Terminalia arjuna in cut/sifted or whole bark form for tincturing. Companies like Organic India, Banyan Botanicals, and Mountain Rose Herbs seem to only offer them powdered. Do you have recommendations for suppliers that carry these herbs in non-powdered form? Thank you,

David said: Unfortunately no, the company that Banyan get them from can get them whole (I have had some beautiful samples from them, but they only deal in large commercial quantities 50-100 lbs minimum). This is one of the reasons, I use fewer Ayurvedic herbs than TCM herbs, quality and availability . With powders adulteration becomes impossible to detect without HPLC’s or mass spec testing.
