HI David,
After being pressed out and over its life on the shelf, should a fresh milky oat tincture stay somewhat close to the nice greenish/white /light brown milky color it gets when first being made?
If it ages to a darker color throughout like many other tinctures, does this mean there is something wrong with how it is being extracted? And do we want to be seeing a settled out layer of light colored sediment at the bottom of the jar?
As best as I know, I am harvesting in prime milky stage. I have made it both 30% (calculating water weight by drying a sample) as you have taught us and as a "75% alcohol extract" without calculating water in the fresh plant. Regarding color, results are variable in how the tincture turns out color-wise with both methods.
I'd appreciate any thoughts.
