David, My Cat Twilly Tenderroni (Roni) was diagnosed hyperthyroidism mid December. My vet put him on Felimazole 2.5mg 2 times daily. he was started on this medicine approximately 1 week before Christmas. He is hardly eating since starting the medication and he is hiding a lot and seeking warm spaces. Roni is 12 years old and will be 13 in August of 2023. he weighs about 12 pounds. He went to the Vet this past Tuesday for blood to check the dosage after 1 month. I do not have those results back yet. My pet sitter who is a former vet tech said medication is very hard on the liver and kidneys. If anyone has used herbs for this condition in Cats before I would really appreciate any guidance you could give. My 3 boy cat’s are my everything. I recently did order a product made by NHV named RESTHYRO it contains Eleuthero, Bugleweed, Lemon balm, Gotu Kola, Hawthorne Berries, Skullcap, Valerian root. (Feedback appreciated) I started giving it to him last Thursday at one dose per day, while still giving him the the 2 daily doses of Felimazole. Yesterday I gave him the doses of the RESTHYRO as bottle directed and one dose of the Felimazole and he ate his food at breakfast this morning. I really would prefer to not have him on the prescription Felimazole. But I also want to do what is best for my kitty.

Here is a paper on FelimazoleHere is a paper on Felimazole The herbal product you are using has some good things in it such as Lemon Balm and Bugleweed, but most of the other herbs are peripheral to hyperthyroidism. I found a Thyroid formula for cats in glycerin, that makes more sense it is from Pet WellBeing and it is called Thyroid Support Gold _-Hyperthyroid. I have doubts you will be able to take your cat off the Felimazole completely but adding the herbal formula may allow you to reduce the dose.
