I am finding teasel growing around me here in the northeast and I was wondering if the species we find here is the same as/can be used interchangeably with the species listed on the Materia medica “Xu Duan”? When I research it, the one here in the US comes up as Dipsacus fullonum, which you have listed in the secondary uses on the MM, for different uses than the “Xu Duan”. Can it also be used for the same additional uses noted for the Chinese species? Thanks!

In my limited experience the European Teasel, which is what you have is weaker than the Chinese/Japanese species and not as effective.
