Speaking of Metformin...

....I just got this text from my Type 1 diabetic sister: "Tell me how metformin makes my pancreas work. My doc said I might have to lower my basal by 10% but I’ve now lowered it nearly 20% AND I haven’t been bolusing for food unless it has a higher fat content and I’m still going low." A fluke? A coincidence? Not a lot to go on, obviously, but I'm wondering if you've heard anything similar. lex

I didn't realize what Metformin actually did when I wrote this question. So, if it's acting as a hypoglycemic agent, reducing blood glucose...so, I understand why she's going low...and she doesn't have to give herself as much insulin because the metformin is already keeping her blood sugar low?
