I'm trying to help my sister with some knee surgery she is prepping for. She has digestive issues and leaky gut but will have to take pain killers and NSAIDs, so she is worried about negatively impacting her gut more. She has issues with liver detox due to methylation issues, as well. I was looking for some ways to support her during the process. I was thinking the following but would love any guidance/advice: Post surgery recovery Megaspore probiotic Comfrey cream and/or hypericum oil for local application when wound is closed Supplementation: Vitamin A Vitamin E Zinc Amla fruit? Turmeric (inflammation & phase 2 liver) Milk Thistle (hepatoprotective & phase 1 liver detox) Food: Lots of protein Goji berry Blueberry - all anti-inflammatory. Would it make sense to make a healing tincture instead and aid with food and supplementation, for example. If I went the tincture route, I was thinking horsetail, milk thistle, turmeric, Amla, goji berry. I feel like there are things I'm missing that she could do, or could take a different approach, but would appreciate any advice. Thank you in advance!

Post surgery recovery lots of good quality protein, zinc, Vitamin C Megaspore probiotic, I would give Saccharomyces boulardiii, especially if she is taking an antibiotic Comfrey cream and/or hypericum oil for local application when wound is closed good Supplementation: yes, but not sure how much Milk Thistle is needed here Vitamin A Vitamin E Zinc Amla fruit? yes Turmeric (inflammation & phase 2 liver) yes Milk Thistle (hepatoprotective & phase 1 liver detox) it supports Phase 2 more than phase 1 Food: Lots of protein all good Goji berry Blueberry – all anti-inflammatory. Would it make sense to make a healing tincture instead and aid with food and supplementation, for example. If I went the tincture route, I was thinking horsetail, milk thistle, turmeric, Amla, goji berry. Tincture is not necessarily better for Amla, Goji berry, horsetail. A tincture pain formula to reduce need for NSAIDS may be helpful.
