Hello David, I feel awkward asking a second question in less than a week, but I'm going for it since my veterinarian seems to be shooting in the dark at this point and I'm very concerned for my beloved cat. Long story short: 15 year old cat with history of ceruminous cystomatosis (large cysts that make it hard to look and treat deep down in the canal). Previous vet pretty much ignored the ears for years, so recently decided to switch vets to get another viewpoint. New vet took wax samples and found yeast, and started us on a wax-dissolving and yeast treatment plan... yeast decreased but bacteria showed up so treated with Baytril Otic (containing silver sulfadiazine)... didn't work and yesterday the bacteria and yeast were both worse. Vet is frustrated and doesn't seem to know what to do at this point. Do you know if there are relatively safe herbal/natural treatments for feline ear infections? I realize this is quite a general question and I'm seeking to treat the disease and not the patient! Also, do you know of any very experienced holistic vets who might work remotely (I can share the cytology results)? Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a truly holistic vet to work with nearby. Thanks very much, and I understand if this is asking too much on this forum.
