Hello David and Rich, I hope this finds you well! I have a couple things I am hoping to get some clarification on. One is regarding Echinacea spp. Is it true that after taking routinely for two weeks, that it is advisable to take a week's break from it, to avoid immune tolerance/depletion (I have been told both)? The second is regarding licorice root, Glycyrrhiza glabra. Is it true that taking it regularly depletes potassium? I have heard this numerous times. I am extremely interested to hear both your thoughts on these loose ends … they've been trailing me around for years. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Shana

Absolutely not, there is no reason to stop taking Echinacea or validity to what you have been told, it does not deplete the immune system or stop working. Yes, it can deplete potassium and cause sodium retention.
