I see in the Materia Medica sheet we were given that Gou teng's Latin name is Uncaria sinensis. I have a bottle of Gou teng powder from several years ago that says it is Uncaria rhynchophylla. Are these species interchangeable? Thanks, Miriam

On the Gou Teng materia medica sheet, there is an asterisk after the Latin name. That is referenced in the special notes area: *U. rhynchophylla (Nen Gou Teng), U. macrophylla (Da Ye Gou Teng), U. hirsuta (Mao Gou Teng), U. sessilifructus (Wu Bing Guo Gou Teng).
