Good morning, I also have questions about Bladder wrack. Firstly, what is the shelf life of whole bladder wrack? Source - Ryan Drum. Secondly, I am curious about the toxins absorbed by both Irish Moss and Bladder wrack. I know that source must be key, but dilution means that certain toxins, like fertilizer run off will spread throughout a region. Do we need to be concerned about using this if there is already a concern of heavy metal accumulation, or if we cannot pinpoint harvest location?

If stored correctly in a cool dry environment the shelf life of Bladdewrack is long, at least 5-7 years. Yes, what ever is in the water it grows in, it will uptake, so heavy metals, radioactive compounds, and other environmental toxins, the cleaner the water, the cleaner the seaweed.
