Vitamin C with Iron

Can you please elaborate on your recommendation to add vitamin C with Iron for case study KLR. My understanding was that vitamin c and iron should be separated when supplementing to avoid interactions. Would love to understand more. Thank you!

Ascorbic acid facilitates iron absorption by forming a chelate with ferric iron at acid pH that remains soluble at the alkaline pH of the duodenum. This is especially true of non-heme Iron but not so much with heme iron. It also works best in people with a low MCV.
