planting evening primrose

I'm in NC - zone 7B. I'd like to sow evening primrose. Where you live, is this best in fall or early spring or both? What zone are you in? Thank you!

I am in zone 6, and Evening Primrose self-seeds in the late summer-early autumn. I have never tried planting it in the spring but believe it would work as well
