DGL, licorice, and steroids

Hi, David--In class yesterday you said that DGL could be used to help lower the dose of corticosteroids. I thought it was the glycyrrhizin that had this activity, so that you would need to use the whole root. Just want to make sure! Thanks for all, Joyce Stahmann

I did not say DGl (or if I did, I misspoke) can be used to lower corticosteroid doses, it is Licorice that does that.
