Calendula and Fibroblasts

Someone close to me has a soft tissue sarcoma called a desmoid tumor. She says that desmoid tumors are like scar tissue that doesn't receive the message to "turn off" or stop forming at a specific site. It's explained by her doctors as an error in the coding of fibroblasts. She says that not all her fibroblasts are affected -- she heals just fine from small cuts. And though her tumor is large, she only has one. In the Materia Medica sheet, it notes that Calendula may help in the proliferation of fibroblasts. Do you think that using calendula either internally or externally would be a problem for her?

I do not think it will be a problem, although I would avoid using it on the desmoid tumor
