Maintaining gut flora with antibiotic use

My 12yo daughter went to the dermatologist and was diagnosed with the skin condition-CARP. She just started yesterday on Minocycline which she is supposed to take 2x/day for one month. I believe I recall you mentioning a certain strain of probiotic that is best to take for maintaining gut flora and was wondering what that was. Is there any other protocol you follow that could help with this? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

David said: Saccharomyes boulardii is the probiotic yeast to take with antibiotics. The problem with CARP is it is idiopathic and there is no agreement as to the cause. Considering it is benign I would consider topical and oral herbal treatments to see if they would work, especially if the minocycline does not work.

Look at the underlying issues liver, gut health, immune system and symptom picture for the specific person who has CARP. That will direct treatment, but initially I would think Gotu Kola, Sarsaparilla, Burdock seed, Milk Thistle seed, possibly Butternut bark.
